"Living History: John Muir"
Presented by: John Kolar,
Geauga Park District Chief Naturalist
John Muir (1838-1914) was America’s most famous and influential naturalist and conservationist and has been called “The Father of our National Parks.”
As a wilderness explorer, he is renowned for his exciting outdoor adventures in search of nature’s beauty. His writings contributed greatly to the creation of Yosemite, Sequoia, Mount Rainier, Petrified Forest, and Grand Canyon National Parks.
The famous naturalist visits from the past to tell his story and share some of his more memorable, “hands-on” experiences with nature! His life is an important lesson as to the great things that just one person can do to make positive, social and environmental change!
